BENCH PRESS Training
This is the
first time I have done anything significant on Banded OHP’s and it felt great.
I am also happy with the 8 reps I got on BP. It was very unexpected and took me
by surprise. Now I’m gonna gun for 9. I stopped the Banded OHP’s at 72,5
because this was a “trial” workout of sorts. I just wanted to get a feel for
this and these numbers will help me figure out a good base to build from. The
bands are such a good addition. Theoretically they should be helping me at two
points. One; they’ll force me to apply a lot of force right from the get go to
overcome the sticking point. And two; they will really overpower me at the
sticking point that is around eye to forehead level and powering through that
will help me get stronger. But this is just theory. What I know, data analysis
wise, is that bands have always been a huge part of whatever success I have had
on Deadlifts and Bench Press. So hopefully they’ll propel my OHP’s too.
