DEADLIFT Day
I have become into a
docile Lenny (ref: Shark Tale) when it comes to attacking the deadlift and this
amateur mistake slapped me right in the face today. Luckily, I was able to mend
my ways and kick in the aggression and determination that is needed to push
maximal weights and I hit 2 PRs on banded deadlifts and then I got 233 kgs x 2
reps on Deadlifts despite failing 240 kgs before that. I think a LOT of my
uneasiness and discomfort about the deadlift in the last few weeks has been
caused by this casual approach to the deadlift and I am done with making it
through these workouts by the skin of my teeth. I always fly under the radar on
Good Mornings, Squats, etc because I prioritize the deadlift for intensity,
volume, aggression, everything. It is time to get back to pulling the bar like
giant clamps have held it down and I need every iota of force to lift off.
